Hamburger Marinade

Although it doesn't seem very common you can in fact marinade hamburgers. They only need to marinade for about an hour and they will be good. Its very simple,

2 T. green Tabasco sauce
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
2 T. Soy sauce
and the entire contents of this seasoning

Mix this all together and mix with enough water to cover 5 hamburgers.
Enjoy

Salmon Patties

I love Salmon, but buying fresh is too expensive on a college student budget so I have to buy the canned stuff. The canned stuff is good but seems to be way more fishy than I would like so I use this recipe to make them taste delicious.

1 Can Salmon
1/4 c flour
1/4 c corn meal
1 egg
1/4 c chopped onion
3 T. Mayonnaise
6 saltines crushed

Mix everything together and form into patties and fry in a small amount of oil. You can add more mayo or saltines to adjust for moisture.

Cool Light Bulb trick

So now a days with energy saving bulbs, it is easy to remove a broken bulb. In the chance you still use old bulbs(You know the incandescent kind) and you accidentally break one, if you still have one, then try this trick to remove the bulb. Simply cut a potato in half, unplug or turn off the power source of the light, push the white fleshy part of the potato into the broken bulb a little and start twisting the potato counter clockwise to remove the broken bulb. It's that simple.

Evernote

So tonight I signed up for Evernote. I have been looking for a way to start taking notes through an app and Evernote seemed like the place to go. I have only read good things about Evernote so it will be interesting to see what it can do. Give me some time to try it out and I will post back with a full review in a couple months. Until the review comes try it out for yourself and tell me what you think, just post in the comments below. Are you already using Evernote? Let me know what you think and give me some tips on what to do with it.

Try it yourself

Dropbox and why it's so great!

In my life I am always taking pictures, typing papers, and using other things on my computer. Because I am always on the run and using different computers at home, school, and friends houses it is nice to have all my files in one place. Dropbox is what I use for my cloud storage needs and here are my reasons for using it.
1. Always have important documents
It's nice having all my school paper in one place so if I forget them at home I can access them on Dropbox and print them off at school.
2. Pictures are uploaded from my phone to Dropbox
When ever I take pictures with my phone the camera upload feature with Dropbox, uploads the picture immediately. This part is nice so that you can save all your phones pictures to your home desktop with the next feature.
3. The desktop application
If in the odd chance your internet goes out, the desktop application saves everything locally to your home desktop.

Dropbox is a great application and is great for cloud storage and I highly recommend it if you find yourself always in need of programs, pictures, or documents. There are tons of posts out there with other great ideas and uses for Dropbox so check it out.

Sour Dough Bread

 This recipe is really simple

2½ C. Flour
1 C. Sour dough starter
½ C. Warm water
½ T. Sugar
½ tsp. Salt

Mix everything together and knead for 5 minutes. Grease a bread pan with ½ T. Olive Oil, and punch down sour dough into bread pan so it forms to the bread pan. Cover the bread with ½ T. Olive oil so that the top is covered. Cover the pan with saran wrap and let it rise for 12 hours, this will help produce a better sour dough flavor. Bake at 400° F for 45 minutes and then turn off oven and let bread sit in the oven for 15 more minutes. Let cool and cut into slices.

Sour Dough starter

Growing up my grandpa always made sour dough pancakes and bread every Sunday. The starter I use now is the starter he uses so it has some good age behind it. There are a couple of ways to get a starter,
1. Inherit a starter
2. Ask a local bakery for some starter(i.e. Great Harvest)
3. Make one from scratch or from a mail order starter(i.e. Carl's Starter)

If you decide to make your own I would suggest going here and following the directions. There is tons of how to's out there and if you find one that works better for you than go with it. One suggestion I will give is if your sour dough starter needs more flavor try feeding it with some whole wheat flour to make it more sour and feed it white flour to keep it at the flavor you want. Good luck and Ill post my sour dough recipe here.

Epic Worlds Engine

A good friend of mine has started a Kickstarter project for a Role-Playing game he has created. His game is called Epic Worlds Engine or EWE for short. In EWE it allows you the freedom of creating your own worlds and to balance them as you please. The power of this creation gives the DM(Dungeon Master) power to create classes that pertain to the world created and also enemies that are customized to that world. As the player you are able to adjust what things your character can do with the set dice pools. You can create your own attack names and what they do as  long as the DM deems them fit. The different dice pools will fit a lot of different attack ideas and effect ideas, which most games have preset attacks and powers. I will post a link to his Kickstarter page and also the website so you can read up more about the game.

First Post

With blogs popping up here and there I decided to try my hand at it. I decided that I will be blogging about my life, what I like, and any random thoughts that pop into my head. My hopes in creating this blog is to help organize my thoughts and also to try and entertain people with what I am thinking. I hope this appeals to people and I will try to post as often as possible.
